We farm on top of the North Downs, which can be cold and windy. Many breeds of sheep just do not survive on this ground, but the Romneys are ideally suited to it. They are relatively easy care, easily surviving on less rations than other breeds of sheep.
The Romney has a fleece which is thick and lusterous and of a high quality. It can withstand the biting winds better than most.
I enjoy showing my Pedigree Romneys with our Son Matthew, and we have done well in the last few years, winning Champion Romney at the Royal Show, and this year we have won Champion Romney at South of England Show, and then Champion and Reserve Champion at the Kent Show, winning 6 Trophies in all. Very Good Year... :))
